The Bodhi Tree!
Just a quick note for those in Christchurch (and outside Christchurch who know what I’m on about): spoke to the owner of The Bodhi Tree today, and he said they were planning a re-opening in Fendalton. Phew that could be dangerous – close enough for me to bike to! If you’ve been to The Bodhi Tree you’ll know why this is news! They’ll also eventually have a website up and running apparently.
If you’d like to let him know how excited you are, he’s at the Christchurch Farmers Market, at the vege stall almost in the driveway at the main entrance to Ricc Bush. They sold the most wonderful quince paste today as well, for only $3 a very generous pottle. Can’t wait to get some equally fantastic cheese to go with it! Alternatively you can ring the restaurant number which has been redirected to his home. He was so humble, and doesn’t seem to realise how much people love the place! Got a little teary when he saw how excited I was to meet him >.<
Hope you’re all having a lovely Easter weekend. If you haven’t already got plans you’re welcome at my place, I’m having a potluck with a few friends, Italian style.
So heartening to hear another Christchurch food business picking itself up out of the rubble. Hope they get lots of support when they do reopen.
If anyone has a contact for the Lyttleton Coffee Co, let me know. I took photos there just a few days before the quake toppled them. I’ve been holding on to pics in case they want them.
Don’t have their contact details, but I did see a photo of them operating somewhere else in Lyttelton I think. Although I could be confusing them with Ground >.<
