Spring recipe competition as part of Feast of Canterbury
This is THE food festival I look forward to most each year – restaurants and cafes offer really tempting deals, food producers open up their gates to show us their magic, and everyone gets to expand their culinary horizons. I’m super gutted I can’t go to the Hats Off Gala Dinner (friends’ birthdays come first!) but have my eye on Mercato’s $15 lunch (have you seen the gorgeous things they produce?!), and the Chef vs Critic dinner that features Nik from Med Foods. Then of course if the Reflection of Canterbury dinner wasn’t sold out, I’d be eyeing that up too. Fortunately for my fast-diminishing bank account, I can’t go to half of the things I want to >.<
As part of the festival I’m running a spring recipe competition open to all Cantabrians. Entries open today and finish on the 20th, so if you’re keen, get scribbling! The prizes are sitting in our spare room, quietly driving me slightly insane… (with envy, of course)
Thanks to the following for supplying prizes:
Relishes, chutneys, sauces, jams, jellies, and marmalades.

I live nowhere near there, but am stoked to see what you get. Can’t wait to see the winner.
A: Thanks Alessandra :) You’ve reminded me I should let the Slow Food Chch group know!
R: Hehe, well if you ever do visit New Zealand, it looks like Spring is the time to do it!
